最近看罗翔听到一句话：

我们登上的并非我们所选择的舞台，演出并非我们所选择的剧本
Life is lived on a stage, against a backdrop and props, and amidst a script and a cast not of our own choosing.

看知乎上说爱比克泰德的原文是：

Remember that you are an actor in a play, and the playwright chooses the manner of it: if he wants it short, it is short; if long, it is long. If he wants you to act a poor man you must act the part with all your power; and so if your part be a cripple or a magistrate or a plain man. 我不经开始思考这句话：
For your business is to act the character that is given you。

既然剧本都在那里，演得好不好，有什么区别？
我越来越疑惑这个世界的运作规律。

其实我更喜欢作者另外一句话：

The world is a stage. life is a performance; you come, you see, you go away.

just see！

我们只是观众。
