A storage solution that’s...

Scalable
Object Storage offers virtually unlimited capacity which automatically adapts to your needs, without the need to manage volumes manually.

Secure
Our Object Storage meets ISO requirements (27001, 27017, 27018, 27701), and integrates with leading backup solutions such as Veeam, HYCU, Veritas, and NetBackup.

Budget-friendly
Pay for what you use, with no hidden costs: free API calls and internal traffic. Only outgoing traffic is billed per volume at £0.0072 ex. VAT/GB.

Committed
Responsible and sovereign storage is our long-term commitment that has been in our DNA for over 20 years.
Our storage classes
Multi-Zone
Your data is automatically spread across three distinct geographic zones to guarantee high availability. The data remains accessible even if there is a major failure in one of the zones. Ideal for mission-critical applications that require a high fault tolerance.

Your questions answered
What Service Level Agreement (SLA) does OVHcloud guarantee for access to Object Storage?
For access to the Object Storage service, the availability SLA is 99.9% in 1-AZ and 99.99% in 3-AZ. For further information, please refer to the General Terms and Conditions of Service.
How do I access and/or manipulate data in Object Storage?
There are several ways of manipulating the data stored on Object Storage. You can use CLI, SDK or S3* compatible APIs to integrate this management directly into your application. You also have the option of directly using a customer available on the market, or Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform.
What is the limit for the volume of data that can be stored on Object Storage?
Virtually, there is no limit. In other words, OVHcloud manages the service so that there is always space available.
How do I choose between the two object storage solutions?
High Performance Object Storage is the ideal solution for performance-intensive needs. For use cases that do not require high performance, Standard Object Storage is the right solution.
What is Object Storage?
It is a technology that offers an online storage service. It is accessible via API, provides users with an unlimited amount of space to store data, and the Object Storage cluster is managed by the cloud provider. You can push all types of data into object storage.
How does Object Storage work?
An object storage service works in a cluster with a large number of storage servers sharing algorithms to ensure data resilience. The service places and indexes data depending on which spaces are available. A cluster can be expanded at any time.
What’s the difference between file systems and Object Storage?
There are many differences. The two most important differences are the fact that Object Storage is used for static data only, and that the solution offers unlimited storage space.
What’s the difference between Object Storage and Block Storage?
The differences between Object Storage and Block Storage are mainly the access modes and volume limitations. The Block Storage service provides storage spaces that are sized as required and linked to an instance. These spaces are managed by the instance’s operating system. Object Storage provides unlimited space that is managed directly by your application.
